I'm such a fragrance junkie that I don't know how I've missed out on some of the classics! I've also just fallen for Mitsouko as well and I've ordered full size bottles of both of them. Vol de Nuit must be next! Shalimar was the first perfume my mother gave me. Thanks for such a lovely review. Chanel No 5 is the most popular example of this, and I'm happy to hear that Guerlain remains firmly ensconced in the French beauty regimen. Especially interesting to me, though, is how this continuity remains despite the changing face of France (new ethnicities, countercultural influences, etc). Just the other day at Bloomingdale's an SA told me her number-one customer for L'HB was a gentleman from Senegal.Vetivressehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13184229271272395673noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3902352134639664562.post-26012718076735114142008-03-14T08:19:00.000-07:002008-03-14T08:19:00.000-07:00This one works for me very well. But L'HB is definitely second.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3902352134639664562.post-36261218620889428442008-03-14T00:34:00.000-07:002008-03-14T00:34:00.000-07:00In France, L'Heure Bleue is actually holding its o...In France, L'Heure Bleue is actually holding its own quite well, actually, judging by the women to whom I teach English in-company. In the Guerlains, it's just behind Shalimar -- which seems to be the Parisian default scent with N°5. (Also showing up in this informal survey: "My mother wears Mitsouko", "My wife wears Jicky", "My GF wears Angel", a couple of YSL Cinéma and the ubiquitous Light Blue).<BR/>All this to say that classic Guerlains are still very popular here, which is a blessing to my nose.carmencanadahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04242409369868615074noreply@blogger.com
